​The ropeXchange is a quarterly Shibari festival for queer and kinky rope enthusiasts in Berlin. We offer over 36 hours of concentrated workshops in 3 days on rope, networking, socializing and more. There is also a Play & Rope Jam open to everyone on Saturday evening.

🪢 Our Workshops:

We have again planned great workshops for you for the ropeXchange in November: This time it starts on Friday afternoon with an “Introductory Workshop Shibari” and a double course “First Aid in Bondage”, for advanced students there is “Suspension Basics” and in the “Nerd Talk: Single Column Tie” we look at the advantages and disadvantages of different knots and then end the evening together in the great The Knast Bar with cocktails and drinks.

On Saturday, after an official welcome and speed friending, we will devote ourselves to various rope techniques suitable for hanging, from Futomomo to various upper body harnesses and self-suspension to tying with bamboo sticks and an introduction to Spiderman suspension. The Shibari workshops are garnished with a spanking workshop and how to convert old ropes into floggers. Then on Saturday evening there is our Play & Rope Jam party in the old prison cells.

On Sunday there are workshops on creative bondage on a chair, a side hanging suspension in a crane, an introduction to playfight and rough body play and yoga ropes, as well as a general briefing for suspensions and transitions, which is then followed by the Spiderman suspension & transition, while those who have stayed on the ground can work through everything from the weekend in the repetition round or exchange ideas about important topics as a rope bottom in the Bottom Education Lab.

The presenters this time are: Dan Apus Monoceros, ArtoAlto, Tom Trooper, Even, Miss Kiki and Tom Delirio. On Saturday evening the ropeXchange also opens up to other rope enthusiasts with the open Play & Rope Jam.

🌊 The Location:

In November, the ropeXchange will take place in “The Knast”. The former women's prison from the imperial era was used as a detention center until 2010. Today it is a kink and queer-friendly art and culture center and also offers studios and exhibition space to the queer artist collective prideArt.

We use the lower floor of the cell block for our workshops, various retreat rooms, a large hall, modern sanitary facilities and a large, green courtyard for relaxing. For our event we are turning this into a cozy Shibari studio in an extraordinary atmosphere!

 

👉 Ticket Information

There are weekend and day tickets:

The weekend ticket ("full weekend") includes all events and workshops from Friday to Sunday.

 

A day ticket includes the day (Saturday or Sunday) from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., as well as the events on Friday afternoon.

 

The play evening on Saturday is only included in the weekend ticket, but can also be booked separately afterwards.
