Seile und Tangas sehen zusammen richtig heiß aus. Was meint ihr?
Ropes and thongs look really hot together. What do you think?
I actually thought thongs were too bitchy, too cheap and yeah, not really my style... But just recently I tied up a male and a female model in thongs or at least a similar loincloth. And it was just hot!!! The tiny lines support the natural shape of the body. They emphasize what is there, don't get in the way when tying and leave room for the aesthetics of the rope and body. They don't cover much and if you want a little more, you can easily pull the piece of fabric to the side and put it back on later. The rigger has it in hands...
Time to learn a little more and think about it :)

Origin and cultural background
The thong is a minimalist garment whose roots lie in the indigenous and traditional cultures of South America, especially Brazil. There, the thong was a traditional loincloth. The term "thong" itself comes from Portuguese and refers to the clothing of the indigenous people. Over time, this garment found its way into Western fashion, especially through swimwear. In the 1970s, especially in Brazil, the thong became a symbol of physical freedom and aesthetic expression.
______
Insert: Other cultures also had similar loincloths that were quite similar to today's thong. For example, the Greeks, the Romans, in Africa, generally in warm regions of the world and especially the Fundoshi in Japan. They were mostly seen as practical summer fashion and the main focus was on functionality. However, they were very individual and also differed within cultures, depending on status and personal taste. The Fundoshi was a symbol of masculinity and purity, especially in a ritual context.
Significance for fashion and culture
Over the course of the 20th century, the thong underwent a transformation from a purely functional object to a piece of clothing with strong cultural and aesthetic value. The thong found its way into the international fashion world and became a statement of freedom, sensuality and body awareness for both men and women.
Today, the thong is often worn as an expression of self-confidence and freedom. Its minimalist shape allows the body to be aesthetically emphasized and natural beauty to be brought to the fore. In the western world in particular, the thong stands for the removal of taboos on the body, for sexual freedom and the possibility of showing one's own body without shame.
Many people wear the thong under tight clothing to avoid lines. But it is also often found on the beach or in bodybuilding, wrestling or beauty pageants. It expresses self-confidence and is closely associated with aesthetics and body awareness.
Although the thong was originally worn by men in many cultures, in the western context it was initially seen primarily as a women's item of clothing. Therefore, for many it symbolizes femininity, sensuality and body awareness.
But men also wear thongs in swimwear and as underwear. It has a special meaning, especially in the context of male body cult, for example in bodybuilding or wrestling. Here the thong is often seen as a sign of fitness and body awareness. Here it stands as a new form of masculinity, which confidently showcases male aesthetics and desirability.
Everyone can wear a thong and it can have different meanings for different people. Especially in the areas between the binary genders, a thong also stands for the non-binary, the gender fluid, the androgynous or something that cannot be assigned. So you can say that the thong has had an exciting history and stands for strong female and male gender identities, as well as the non-binary.
What does a thong mean to you?
How does that fit in with Shibari?
Let's put the thong in relation to Shibari... the aesthetic binding of the body.
The aesthetics
Both emphasize the body as an aesthetic object and put it in the center. They draw attention, they emphasize it, they present it. It is displayed without shame or dignity and staged like a work of art. The body is neither naked nor covered. Not exposed, but pure and free.
Thongs and Shibari present the body sensually and artistically!
Thongs and Shibari take people as they are. They put them in the spotlight, they decorate them, but they do not change them. They do not retouch, they are pure and untainted. They work out the natural aesthetics of the model and thus give it the space it needs. This is achieved by the thin lines of the thong and the strong ropes on the person being bound. They emphasize and underline the natural shape of the model. But they also give the model support, keep things where they should be and thus secure the position.
Thong and rope work create a dynamic tension between what is shown and what remains hidden. This tension also integrates position and perspective, but also a small bit of fabric, so that it doesn't look clumsy or too much... The combination creates an effect that is both sensual and artistic.
The emotional world of the model
Shibadi and thongs combine certain feelings. Self-confidence is one of them: people who are proud of their bodies and like to show them off will find both thongs and ropes flattering and underline their desire for extroversion. Both put people in the center of attention, where they can shine.
But the other way round too, people who value intimacy and embarrassment will benefit equally from both elements. If you then pull the panties a little to the side, you can benefit even more.
For many people, being tied up is a feeling of freedom. It's similar with the feeling in a piece of clothing that covers practically nothing. You feel free when you're tied up or in a thong... do you feel even freer when you combine the two?
There are so many other emotional worlds that revolve around sensual and erotic play, which are also addressed equally by both elements and which can complement each other wonderfully. Thongs and restraints can address the same needs and thereby reinforce them or make them a complete unit. You put yourself in the hands of a trusted person who has another element to play with thanks to the thong, no matter which direction you want to go.
Technical aspects
From a purely technical point of view, less clothing is an advantage when bonding. The ropes get tangled less and they don't slip on clothing. At the same time, thongs themselves don't slip very much because they adapt perfectly to the natural shape. Since most thongs are also very flat, there are no unpleasant pressure points caused by crossing ropes. This makes them great for bondage.
If you're not averse to more intimate or sexual contact, a thong can be pulled to the side very easily and hardly gets in the way when playing. But you can also quickly cover the play area again and thus only leave a short interlude.
So thongs and Shibari seem to go together wonderfully. But what can you say about the choice of thongs?
What should a good thong have?
First of all, it is of course difficult to generalize, as tastes and what you want to express with it are very different. Nevertheless, I will try to give you a few of my ideas here that might give you other ideas.
First of all, a thong should have a good cut, not too loose and not too tight. A good cut emphasizes the figure of the model. If, for example, it has a great butt, you don't want the lines of the thong to go over it, but rather they should frame the butt and show it in the right light. With a bunny with a cock and balls, you might want this to be pushed up a bit, so make it look bigger (or you try to hide it and push it away). But the fit is also important, so that the thong covers everything and doesn't end up with genitals sticking out at the side. The same applies to the rear view. If the legs are spread, the thin material of some thongs can no longer cover the anus. You can play with this intentionally or unintentionally, but you should be aware of it.
The recommendations are even more vague when it comes to the meaning of the thong. It can exude self-confidence, but also have something purist about it. The recommendations for color and design can vary accordingly. If you want to place more emphasis on self-confidence, you can play with strong and colorful motifs, such as neon colors, red, glitter, lace, leopard print and the like. For my personal taste, however, I would not go too wild here so as not to distract too much from the bondage. For me, the minimalist, the aesthetic and the purist are very important here, which is why I would rather go for single-colored models that also match the color of the ropes. For me, the thong should support the model and put my bunny in the right light and attract less attention itself, which is why I would tend towards white or black here.
I would rather avoid thongs with large advertising text. They contradict both the concept of self-confidence, as you are covering yourself with someone else's legitimacy, and the concept of purism, as you don't need the brand. They distract too much from the model and try to direct the focus to something else.
When it comes to material, I would look for something soft. Swim thongs made of elastic material seem to fit very well without being too tight. They are also usually more durable, better made and have a nicer cut, as they are made to be shown off. But very simple thongs can also work wonderfully.
Conclusion
First of all, I have to say very clearly that I wouldn't describe a few positive experiences as hot just because it's a thong. A thong doesn't suit everyone and can only highlight what is there. So does the thong suit a person? Does it suit the style I want to portray? Which thong suits my model? Or is other clothing better? Or maybe naked?
Up until now, I've been a big fan of boxer briefs on my models, i.e. tight boxers with a tight cut below the hips. But now I've definitely ordered a few thongs for my models and will probably experiment a bit more with them.
What are your experiences? Which thongs do you like to wear and what do you pay attention to? How do you feel in them as a model? And what do you really not like about thongs? Feel free to write it in the comments!
